Tree Care
The Village plants and maintains trees on the public right of way throughout the Village. A resident volunteer Tree Care Supervisor and the Village Manager oversee tree services, including everything from simple pruning, mulching, & watering, to tree removal and tree planting.
The Village contracts with independent contractors for various tree & right of way landscape services.
Public trees cannot be removed without the inspection and approval of an independent arborist and a permit from the State of Maryland.
Additional details about general tree care, requirements for protection of trees in the right-of-way during construction, and ordinances related to tree protection can be found in Chapter 9 of the Code of Ordinances for the Village of Martin's Additions.
