Beginning Thursday, February 23, 2012 nominations for the Village Council are being accepted by the Village Elections Committee. This year three seats are open on the Council. Each seat is for a two-year term.

Would you like to serve as a Council Member? Martin’s Additions is a self-governing, incorporated municipality in the State of Maryland. As such, the Village is responsible for providing trash collection, recycling, road and sidewalk repair, snow plowing, and other municipal services. To support these service, the Village sets rates for local property taxes and derives significant receipts from income taxes through the State. The smooth function of government and delivery of services has depended on the ability and willingness of interested residents to serve on the governing body—the Village Council. Would YOU like to be involved? Consider becoming a candidate.
